The disparity which exists both economically and socially between indigenous and non-indigenous members of Australian society is a matter of concern to all Australians and compromises our global standing as a successful cohesive society.

In a move towards finding practical ways of dealing with some of these issues of this disparity the Governor of Queensland joined with The Global Foundation in hosting a Roundtable to discuss the development of links and partnerships between the private sector with indigenous communities, individuals and leaders.

As well as discussing how the private sector can assist in strengthening the economic viability and sustainability of indigenous enterprises, the Roundtable also considered existing successful models of private sector / indigenous collaboration.
